This one‑bedroom urban apartment in the heart of Maidenhead marked the client’s first step onto the property ladder after several years of renting. While the apartment offered a strong layout and central location, it lacked identity and a clear design direction.

The client wanted a home that felt bright, uplifting and reflective of their personality, with confident use of colour. The challenge was introducing new elements in a measured way, bringing clarity and cohesion through carefully sourced furniture and considered design decisions.

The project began with establishing a clear design direction and understanding how the space needed to function in practice. Through a structured design process, bold colour was introduced selectively and anchored by clean lines, considered layouts and a restrained material palette. Each decision was made with intention, ensuring the space felt coherent rather than overstated.
